Freedom

Yesterday, I did the unthinkable.

I deleted myself from Facebook.  Only temporarily, but I did it nonetheless.

And it felt good.

I got more done today than I have in years.  I wasn't stopping to "quickly" check Facebook while doing chores.  I didn't sit on the couch for an hour after waking up to "catch up" on my news feed from the night before.  I mean, I have 400 friends (er, something like that) and they all post several times a day.  I was spending more time "catching up" on my friends lives than devoting the same time into my own.

So, right now, the only way to get a hold of me is to text or call.  Ol' fashion style. And I like it.

With my new free time today, I spent an hour printing worksheets at the library, I cooked a fabulous dinner, organized my kid's craft station, and did not only ONE but TWO workouts at the gym.

Zumba kicked my butt and then my friend and I did our Couch to 5k training.  I ran another 2 miles and today's pace was picked up to a 90 second running, 2 minute walking interval.  And let me tell you -- 90 seconds of running is WAY different than 60 seconds.  I cheered my way through it and almost gave up, but I kept thinking about how I needed to do this to run that Half Marathon because SOMEHOW I have to run for over 3 hours straight.  Which is terrifying right now.

Maybe I'll add another run to my daily routine now that I am not attached to social media for a while.  Okay, maybe not.

Here's to new found freedom!!
