A Night Out Saved by Fish

The Husband passed a very important test yesterday that brings us one step closer to a higher rank - and mo' money. It was his second try after having missed passing the first time by only one point. When he called to tell me the good news, he said he wanted to go out and celebrate. Not wanting to diminish his hard work, I agreed.

We live in an area with nothing but chain restaurants. There are very few of the "mom and pop" type places that we love. However, in this instance, I was happy for the choices we had because I could prepare myself ahead of time which is crucial for staying on program.

When The Husband suggested Red Lobster I was stoked for two reasons:

1) Fish is healthy
2) I had a $4 off coupon.

Score.

Their new Woodfire Grill menu offered a ton of choices, but I went with one that seemed the healthiest - Woodfire Shrimp, Scallops & Chicken. It was absolutely delicious, to say the least, and it was only 580 calories with 10 grams of fat, I came to find out. I was stuffed to the gills and had leftovers to boot.

I hate to ever leave the house when I'm completely staying on program, because temptations are too great. I could have easily eaten my weight in fried ooey goodness, or chowed down on a greasy hamburger and thrown the program out the window -- but I didn't. I planned ahead and kept it healthy.

And because of that - I'm gonna stay ahead of the game.
