Wednesday Weigh-In
Man, oh man.
I was 164.8!!!!! I've lost 3 pounds since 12/17!
I cannot even believe it. Who in the heck loses weight over the holidays? Me, I guess! I ate like crud and drank, too, so I'm not sure how this is possible!
Whatever, dude. I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth! (Insert jumpy happy face here)
I have found that my daily hunger paings are all but gone on this program. Honestly. I get a little hungry in the late afternoon, but I pop a couple of pieces of cheese in my tummy, and I'm good to go. I am consciously choosing to avoid the "easy" snacking on convenience foods, and eating more proteins, veggies and cheeses.
I will be posting my weigh-ins on Mondays from here on out, and I'm gonna try to only weigh myself then. It's an addiction, but I'm trying to break it!!

Wednesday Weigh-In
I thought it might be more, but I was finally hungry yesterday and ate my whole 36 hours worth of missed food, and thensome. It wasn't the greatest idea, but dude, I was friggin hungry.
I can't seem to get back on the WW wagon for anything these days. That's not to say that I have been eating crap, but I don't have enough time during the day to actually record what I've eaten. Thankfully, being a Lifetimer has taught me a lot about how to eat, which helps tremendously, but I can't get around to writing it down when I put it in my mouth. I'm thinking about trying Core for a while if I can't get a good loss going here soon. I've read a little about the newest program, Momentum, but need to maybe attend a meeting to hear what it's all about.
We are currently having sleep troubles in this house, something I never thought we would have. The baby is doing just fine and has learned to put herself to sleep, thank God. It's the dang toddler that's throwing me for a loop. I believe it's time we stop naps because if he does get a nap, he's not going to sleep until 9:00, and if he doesn't, he passes out without a sound right at his normal bedtime.
I thought kids were supposed to nap until they were around 4, but I forgot that we're dealing with a kid that makes his own rules like getting teeth at 4 months, walking at 9.5, and talking in sentences at 18 months. Apparently, I can't go by the book with this one.
Speaking of sleep, both of the kids are still sleeping (after a bit of a "hiccup" from The Big Little One at 5:45), so I need to get on the ball and get some housework done while I have a few quiet moments. Sometimes I wonder what I ever used to do in my "old life". :)

Overzealous Part 2: Goals Revised
I guess it's better to be optimistic than to be pessimistic, right? Believing in yourself is half the battle.
I have done pretty well so far. I haven't totally given up, but some days it's hard. I have never had such a hard time losing weight and I blame that on the fact that I'm breastfeeding. My body is holding on to this weight with a vice grip and I can't shake it. I'm exercising almost every day, I'm watching what I eat, and the results just aren't coming like I had hoped.
Oh well. I'd rather give nourishment to my child than be skinny any day. Although, I'm secretly hoping that when we wean around 12 months I can get rid of this stinky old weight lickety split.
So...my Goals (Revised) are:
- Lose 4 pounds by Janurary 15 to be 165
- Lose 10 pounds by March 1 to be 159
- Lose 16 pounds by April 15 to be 153 (#2 prepregnancy weight)
- Lose 19 pounds by June 1 to be 150 (#1 prepregnancy weight)
That gives me 6 more months to do this, and if I fall short, it won't be horrible; however, if I can achieve it beforehand, I will know that I've put my mind to it and got it done.
Oh - and today is Weigh-In day and I'm 169 even. A loss of .4. Something is better than nothing, right?

What in the World? (AKA Wednesday Weigh In)
No, I am not kidding.
An official loss of .2 after the scale told me I had gained two pounds a few days ago. Holy crap.
I don't know how it happened. I was SO discouraged the other day when I weighed myself to see the Thanksgiving damage and now I'm totally stoked. Working out and drinking my water REALLY DOES help! Woo hoo!
Yesterday, Amber and I were discussing the question posted over at Roni's Weigh, which was whether or not you weigh yourself every day. The honest to God answer is - yes, I do. I'm a person obessessed, actually. I can't start my day without knowing what my weight is at. Even at my skinniest (146) I did it every day, almost like a confirmation that I really was seeing the right number.
Now, I feel as though weighing myself all the time keeps me accountable for what I ate. I'm not sure if the science is exact, but I can tell you that if I gained from the day before I will work harder that day to make sure I don't keep going up. Ridiculous as it may seem, I am more focused on the number than anything else. I wish it weren't so, but it's true. The number is more validating to me than whether or not I can comfortably wear my jeans, although the latter is a reward for former.
I was able to get in my Shred workout yesterday cause I brought it over to Rochelle's house to show it to her. Rochelle is my very dear friend who had her daughter 13 days after I had mine, and she stayed skinny her whole pregnancy. She is also the person who makes delicious baked goods and always brings them down to my house to share.
She. Must. Stop.
She fed me the most delicious side dish last week that I thought I would pass on to you. It's a super easy way to get in your oil and veggies.
Take a TBSP of olive oil, 2 TSP of garlic and sautee. Add in some Mann's Broccoli Cole Slaw and cook for a few minutes. Add a dash of salt and pepper for taste!
It's deeeeeelicious (as #1 would say).
I'm not sure what's on the menu for this evening. I may seek out a stew recipe cause the weather has been a bit chilly and The Husband has been asking for it.
Off to see if I can find a healthy version!

Wednesday Weigh-In & Giving Thanks
I'm happy but I'm also disappointed because if I hadn't gone home I probably would've reached my goal of 165 by 11/30. Oh well. We'll see just how close I can get!
And now, watch out for the incoming excuse:
I haven't been able to work out these last couple of days thanks to the fact that my germ infested toddler passed his cold to the rest of us. I guess it's not a horrible excuse because I can't breathe let alone use my aching muscles for more than their normal jobs. My house is a mess and it was all I could do to get out and go Turkey Day grocery shopping this morning, but I did it.
Seeing as how I will be watching my Detroit Lions get smeared on TV tomorrow, and also because I'll be avoiding this blog whilst I stuff my face with food, I wanted to write out a few things that I am thankful for this year:
*The fact that my Mom had a cancer that was completely curable with only the removal of her kidney, and the fact that I was able to be there to nurse her back to health.
*That I was able to conceive another child, carry her to 37.5 weeks gestation, and that she was born totally healthy despite a few in utero scares!
*That The Big Little One is healthy, happy and waaaaay smarter than he should be at this age.
*That I have the love of a fantastic man who adores me, and that I get to wake up and be his wife every day of my life.
*That I have family who I miss so much it hurts.
*That we have absolutely fantastic friends here in Mobile, as well as other places throughout the country, and that the Lord blesses us with people who are our family not by blood, but by heart.
*That we have a wonderful church home with people who cared enough about us to feed us while I was on bedrest, so it was one less thing for us to worry about.
*That The Husband has job security, a paycheck (albeit a small one, it's a paycheck nonetheless), and healthcare ;and that because of these things I am able to be a Stay At Home Mom who watches my kids grow before my eyes.
I wish all who read this blog the Happiest Thanksgiving whatever your plans may be. May God bless each and every one of you.

Wednesday Weigh-In
The week away was much harder than I thought it would be. I was diligent in bringing my WW folder with all my tools so I could stay on track, and never once did I open the dang thing. We only went out to eat once the whole week, but suffice it to say, I did my fair share of indulging while I was there.
I actually was completely wrong in my prediction that I would eat better with my own mom as opposed to my MIL. I attribute this to the fact that my Mom entertained people every day that we were there and she wants to make sure that people aren't hungry, so there's always an h'orderves platter out. I found myself eating cheese and crackers up the wazoo. She put out a whole spread on Sunday for my extended family, and while chatting away with my relatives, I was stuffing myself with crap. I'm a muli-tasker like that.
So, now, I am back on track only to be faced with Thanksgiving in one week. While planning our menu I found myself adding up the points in my head and secretly thinking that there would be no way I could eat everything we planned, until Amber stated that she wouldn't be counting points that day. I undoubtedly agreed. She pointed out that each of our weeks start that same day, so we'll have 60+ points to eat.
I will, however, still be careful with what I eat because my desire to look good has a stronger impact on me than I care to admit.
And now, it seems as though my DVD player has crapped out on me because it wouldn't play my workout. So, I couldn't even do my 30 Day Shred to try to make myself feel better about the .8 gain. I guess I will have to drown myself in water.
Okay, I'm done feeling sorry for myself. I will pull myself up by the proverbial boot straps and do what I can to reach my goal of 165 by the 30th. It seems almost impossible now, but I can at least try to put forth the effort. Usually, if I had seen the numbers go up I might just throw in the towel but I am determined to find myself under all this flab and fat.
Here we go, again...

Wednesday Weigh In
All of this despite my attempts to sabotage all my hard work again last night. I am such an emotional eater, it's crazy. We ordered Hungry Howie's pizza and cheese bread to watch the election results and I was going to only allow myself to eat what was left for my point range and flex points for the week. Sha, right.
By the time we sat down to eat it was pretty apparent that my candidate was going to lose, I just picked up the food and ate it with no regard to how much I was eating. I can't even remember how many pieces I ate.
Awful, huh?
I know I ate the crap out of that cheese bread, too, but my subconcious is blocking my memory from registering how much I shoveled in my mouth. I just knew that I needed that comfort of food and it was all I cared about. Damn emotions.
Gosh, what is it about food that we, as women, find so comforting? Is it that we are never let down by food because we know it will always be the same when we need it? I wish I could rid myself of the need to have a connection with an inanimate object. How does one reverse the psychology of how she eats if she's done it her whole life?
I guess "change" is the word I'm looking for, which is fitting, considering the events of the last 24 hours.
I've just got to change.

Wednesday Weigh In
I checked the scale before the Little Little One's middle of the night feeding and it only showed a .8 loss. So I decided to weigh myself at the exact same time I did last week after being up at my regular time, and wouldn't you know it, I was down even more! My morning coffee moved things along, I guess. And, yes, I'm counting the lower number! YAHOO!
I now have my short term goals set - and for good reason. We are having professional photographs taken next month and I'm dying to look better in them. I am ashamed to admit that I have been avoiding being in any pictures with my beautiful kids because I don't want there to be a photographic record of what I look like right now. I still have pictures of the old Fat Leah and I want to vomit every time I see them.
So, my Short Term Weight Loss Goals are as follows and are starting from 173.2 :
- Lose 8 pounds by November 30th (picture day) for a weight of 165
- Lose 20 pounds by December 25th for a weight of 153 (#2 pre-pregnancy weight)
- Lose 23 pounds by January 30th for a weight of 150 (#1 pre-pregnancy weight)
The next month will really be a challenge because we are traveling home to Detroit and I always manage to gain weight when I go since I miss all of my favorite foods like Greek Salads, Coney Dogs, Buddy's Pizza, Gyros...you know, all the really tasty and not good for you stuff! So, we'll see how I can handle it. Flex Points will be used to their full extent. I may even have to find a way to work out so I can get in some of my favorite foods!
Tonight I'm making a plain ol' turkey burger dinner with 2 point buns and green beans. Nothing fancy since I am using what's left of my freezer before payday tomorrow. Plus, The Patient (aka The Husband) can't eat anything but soft foods, so he'll be happy for something besides yogurt and pudding.
